There is someone in my life who I feel tries very hard to undermine me. A lot. After having spoken to her last night and yet again, she undermined my internship and career prospects I thought that maybe I'm not seeing this from her perspective. Maybe I'm missing something here and it would help to know what her intentions are.
Using the RWS I threw a few cards to answer some questions.
1. How does she see me. With this question I am trying to understand her perspective. Who am I from her perspective or what is her view of me.
Two Swords
2. Why does she seek to undermine me. This is probably too narrow a question as it presumes that's her intention. However it can be answered with a card demonstrating that that isn't what she's trying to do.
Queen of Wands
3. What else do I need to know? This is regarding any other influences or background issues contributing to the situation.
King of Pentacles
4. Advice. I always do an advice card. I don't do outcome positions but an advice card to see where to go from here or if there is anything I need to do regarding the situation.
Hanged Man
Base Card 8 Pentacles.
I'm going to do an interpretation but will hide it so that it you want to take a look, it doesn't interfere but I thought they were interesting cards.

The 8 of Pentacles is me I think. I am somewhat isolated right now and beavering away trying to finish my masters and make my way in my career. Taking it one step at a time I suppose.
The Two of Swords I see as this person sees me as closed off to advice or affection towards her perhaps. Unwilling to budge or capitulate. Again I'm seeing a card of aloneness and perhaps a sense of being lost. Also maybe someone following their intuition or feelings rather than 'common sense'.
Queen of Wands. I think this card is really interesting here. I'm not really entirely sure what it means. Leo is arrogance but I don't see the Queen as arrogant and she's not too badly aspected here. Perhaps a little dampened. I got the feeling of wanting to bring her down a peg or two. The sunflower suggest charisma and the black cat takes me back to the two of swords and the intuition or sense of 'knowing'. A reversed queen can be quite the bully. I also see it as perhaps this person sees the Queen of Wands and is jealous of her. Wants what she has. Seems ridiculous to me as I have a hat full of nothing.
Kind of Pentacles I see as another person in the picture perhaps influencing the situation. Someone doing well in their profession and in direct contrast to the Queen of Wands. Almost altar opposites. Fire and Earth. I'm thinking since the Pentacles is a King perhaps it's trying to dampen down the enthusiasm of the fire, make it more pragmatic perhaps.
Hanged Man This is the only major and such an weird card here. It ties in with the Two of Swords as in keep a lid on things, don't react. But I'm also seeing scapegoating here, someone being hung out to dry. The King turns his back on the Queen and faces the Hanged Man. The Hanged Man is 'more than' for some reason. Perhaps there is too much emphasis on negative thinking or someone being 'wrong' and not enough of an effort to right the situation or see a different perspective. Perhaps both parties are too stuck in their familiar patterns and unwilling to see the other's point of view.
